Telematics firm Masternaut has bought GE's mobile systems business.

The purchase will combine GE Mobile Solutions handheld devices with Masternaut's tracking system. Operations will stay at the GE Mobile Solutions offices in Skipton, Yorkshire, under the name Three-X Communication.

Masternaut expects combined business turnover after the acquisition to total £20m. Masternaut's managing director is Martin Port and its strategic development director is Andrew Tillman (at one time a  director of Minorplanet).
