Valpak and Wincanton partner up to WEEE

05 October 2006

Wincanton has partnered with recycling compliance scheme providers Valpak to offer a service package for the impending WEEE regulations. The partnership, in place from last week, means that Valpak can offer compliance management alongside Wincanton's transport and treatment solutions. Both companies have a "large set of common clients," Valpak chief executive officer Steve Gough tells Motor Transport, which the partnership will initially target.

"By each party sticking to what they're good  at, it will be a good and fruitful partnership," he says. Valpak does confirm that the partnership is not exclusive, but no announcements of other partnerships were due as MT went to press. The timetable for the WEE regulations has been regularly put back, but Gough tells us that the regulations will be valid from January 2007, with companies obliged to comply from July.
