Daf's new telematics and infotainment system

12 October 2006

Daf's new telematics and infotainment system will be available from mid-2007 as an integrated solution on its CF and XF models, with a further version for the LF and other vehicle makes being introduced later the same year, says the truck maker.

The new web-based system will incorporate two-way messaging and mobile phone integration, navigation and traffic information, vehicle tracking with geofencing and performance monitoring reports, and a variety of third-party applications, says Daf.

The navigation and messaging functions will be linked, allowing back offices to send preferred routes directly to a driver for automatic display on the in-cab screen. The system can also be integrated with onboard cameras and can optionally include load temperature monitoring, power take-off monitoring and security information, says Daf.
