Business Post, parcel and mail delivery group, says trading has been "satisfactory" in the six months to September 30. Revenue grew by 15% to £153m. Parcels Services saw revenue fall by 3.4% to £94m. "Parcels volumes are now showing growth," the group says. The franchise network performance has improved but eight have been "brought back into corporate ownership. Overall, these operations make a significant trading loss".
UK Mail "continues to deliver strong growth, with revenue up 156% to £37m". Specialist Services (UK Pallets and sameday courier) grew turnover 3.5% to £21m. "In both businesses we are establishing stronger platforms for sustained growth," the company says.
