SAFED course cuts costs and consumption

The first year of Scotland's safe and fuel efficient driving training programme has seen savings of more than £2m for the industry. The programme has also saved 2.33m litres of fuel and decreased journey time for drivers by 1% says programme managers Momenta.

More than 1,000 drivers have completed the SAFED driver training course funded by the Scottish Executive from the Scottish Road Haulage Modernisation Fund. Further findings include mpg improvement of more than 10% and gear changes  cut by one-third.
