Leasing company TIP has won a deal with international shipping and distribution firm Norfolkline to supply 290 trailers across its Western European operations.
The trailers are standardised curtainsiders and reefers which are designed to be interchangeable across all of Norfolkline's Western markets, principally the UK, the Netherlands and Sweden.
Norfolkline says common components and use makes the trailers more flexible and cheaper to run. The firm, which is owned by shipping giant AP Moeller Maersk, plans to introduce more universal trailers to cut the age of its fleet.
