Allison Transmission says that its TranSynd synthetic transmission oil can be used without changing for double the previous recommendation. The new limit is two years, or 300,000 miles, or 6,000 hours, whichever is soonest.
The oil change for mineral oils remains unchanged at 25,000 miles. Optare Group, the bus maker is the first in the UK to use the GM Allison hybrid transmission.
