Trailer orders were up 28% and turnover by 14.6% over the year compared with 2004/5, but the order book was up by 90% at the year end compared with 12 months earlier as booming EU markets lead to further growth in the trailer industry, Krone says. But it adds that there is a risk of bottlenecks in raw material supply and of rising prices.
"The two commercial trailer manufacturers (the other being Schmitz) do not anticipate new and serious competition for the next few years," it says, due to their cost base advantage.
