A German court has heard allegations that an employee from a German telecommunications company warned managers at haulage giant Willi Betz about undercover police investigations into the firm back in 2002.
The unnamed telecommunications company was being used by German police to investigate the haulage giant. A raid on the now retired employee's house found evidence that he had passed information on to senior figures within Willi Betz, enabling them to avoid detection.
The company's trial is expected to continue until mid July 2007 director Thomas Betz denies corruption charges.
