Andy and Tracey Mead: a marriage made in haulage

30 November 2006

Andy Mead started five years ago with one van now he and his wife Tracey have 35 staff and are waiting for four new SDC sloping-roof, double-deck trailers. They will save £25 a night on diesel costs trunking to the Palletways hub, Mead says. Formerly Willmotts Transport's operations manager, he met his wife when she was doing the accounts at AJK (and subsequently Brian Reyner). His firm, Just Vans (South West), has just won a contract with stationary supplier Consortium to deliver 8,000 pallets  a year to schools. "A lot of people have the potential to do what I've done - it's just taking the risk," he tells Motor Transport.
