Best practice shared between UK and Eire

30 November 2006

The UK and Irish governments have agreed to share best practice on enforcement of road haulage laws, the DfT tells Motor Transport.

DfT officials recently met their counterparts in Dublin, where a road safety authority is being set up that will take responsibility for a range of functions, including road haulage enforcement.

VOSA and the new authority "will be working closely to address enforcement issues including non-compliance of drivers' hours regulations".
