Sweeping changes at the board of the Road Haulage Association have seen the departure of a number of long-serving members and the appearance of several up-coming figures in the industry. Theo de Pencier, chief executive of privately-owned Bibby Distribution, joined the board two months ago as junior vice-chairman to replace Neil Martin, who resigned to concentrate on his business.
Last week five new board members were voted into the board. They are Johnathan Bulmer, managing director of fast-growing haulier Bulmer Logistics; Richard Fry from Framptons Transport Services; George Inch from DHL Freight, who also recently became a member of the Transport Tribunal; Tony Jones from Courtenham Warehousing & Distribution; and Barry Proctor from Barry Proctor Services.
They replace Roger Cullimore from M C Cullimore & Son; Graham Hodgkins formerly of Clearway Distribution; John Marshall from F Marshall (Farms); Anne Preston from Richard Preston & Son and Bob Russett, the former chairman of Palletline.
