A Harwich-based haulage firm has decided to run its entire fleet on 100% biodiesel to reduce environmental damage. Express International (UK), has just taken on four new Daf CF85s as part of the commitment - these trucks will all run on the ultra-green fuel.
Express's proprietor, Gary Shean says he was alerted to the product's availability when hauling loads of biodiesel back from Spain.
He adds: The rest of Europe was moving over to it, and that made me think that we should too - particularly
when you take a look at the combined economic and environmental savings."
Express International began trialling the fuel last autumn on its 17-truck fleet. Daf Trucks has a checklist for use with biodiesel, including reduced service intervals; it emphasises fuel quality.
