When entering the home page of Caledonian Logistics a potential customer will be met with a colourful and pleasing mix of yellow, blue and white. In the middle of the screen sits a heading entitled 'Fifty Years Experience'. This leads to a little bit of confusion when you read that it's not the company itself which has the 50 years experience - it was founded in 1999 - but is the cumulative  working experience of its founders. Cheeky! The rest of the piece gives a concise summary of the company's operations - it specialises in palletised goods. It boasts of an "enviable clientele" but only mentions The Pier shopping group as being part of that. It would have helped to build up a better picture of the company if it listed a few more names of customers.

To the right of the main text are three envelope-shaped photographs of the company's trucks. They seem too small for the job unfortunately and they need to be used much bigger or not at all. Clicking on the Company Profile button on the menu on the left-hand side of the home page brings up a very detailed and informative list of Caledonian's fleet size and strength. There is also an explanation of the company's two depots, one in Aberdeen and one in Inverness. Again the photographs on the right-hand side of the text are too small and a little bit too grey. They need to be more eye-catching. Caledonian should also use  its spell-check on this page - a "RIDGID" vehicle does not look professional and vehicle weights in imperial "tons" haven't been used for 25 years.

The Services page gives a good explanation of the company's overnight trunking and next-day delivery offerings. But the Transport page is merely a re-hash of the fleet information seen previously. Caledonian should be congratulated however for the interactive nature of the site. There is a Book Online page where customers can contact either the Aberdeen or Inverness depots. It's well laid out and easy to understand. The company's Contacts page is also top-notch with comprehensive details including 24-hr mobile numbers of each of the directors.
