Mike Molesworth, chief executive of the Warwick-based refuse vehicle specialist, says: "This is an excellent strategic move for us. The Ros Roca and Dennis Eagle businesses are complementary. We plan to develop Dennis Eagle into a leading international concern and this development will help accelerate this process."
The combined group is expected to have an annual turnover of £406m. Dennis claims it is on track for a record profit year, exceeding the £8.8m operating profit it achieved in 2005.
Ros Roca's acquisition of the institutional shareholding of Dennis from ABN Amro Capital and LDC adds to its numerous waste operations in Germany (Schorling), France (Eurovoirie) and Portugal. It has started selling its products in China and India, as well as its first two chassis in New Zealand.
The Spanish industrial group is based in Tarrega, Catalonia it specialises in pneumatic waste collection, street-cleaning machines, vacuum and water-processing systems. Ros Roca employs 1,100 staff and exports to 70 countries.
