Volvo has regained a truck that had been impounded by VOSA, after winning an appeal to the transport tribunal. The funding company, Warwick-based VFS Financial Solutions, successfully argued that it did all that it could to ensure its customer had a valid O-licence. VFS successfully argued that it had been a victim of a fraud by the opeartor, 1st Way Waste Disposal Services. The transport tribunal overturned a decision by traffic commissioner Chris Heaps. VFS company solcitor Julia Lane tells MT
that VOSA's online listings of operators makes checking easier but that some operators still make fraudulent O-licence claims.
