Scania boss wants MAN co-operation agreement

26 January 2007

The Financial Times reports today that Scania boss Lief Ostling wants a “co-operation” agreement with MAN following the end of MAN’s takeover bid for Scania earlier this week. This could involve working together in areas such as research and development as well as engine component production.

This sounds very similar to the  co-operation agreement that was in place but suddenly collapsed in February last year. However major Scania shareholder Volkswagen may well want a formal, if friendly, merger.
