Police and Highways Agency officers have signed up to a truck crime text alert scheme launched by Truckersworld founder Barrie Tozer this week.
Transport companies are urged to get involved in the scheme, which aims to get details of truck thefts out to signed up members by text in 30 minutes.
Tozer says that sign-up to the scheme has been "pretty good from drivers".
