New boss of Freight Transport Association

The new chief executive of the Freight Transport Association will be Theo de Pencier, currently chief executive of Bibby Distribution. He will replace Richard Turner.

At Bibby Distribution he oversaw a business turning over £125m with a staff of over 2,000. Previously he was Danzas group MD and vice president of strategy, and before that he held various management roles including the managing director  of BRS and group development director, moving services at Pickfords.

The FTA is expected to announce the move officially tomorrow morning (Tuesday 13 February). De Pencier is a member of the board at the Road Haulage Association, but it is not yet known whether he will resign his seat.
