Plans to launch Global Pallet Systems have been put back following a decision to switch hub location. Mike Chamberlain, who is heading up the new network, says it is now due to open on March 12.
Chamberlain initially opted for a hub in Stourbridge but decided to site the hub at Fradley Park in Lichfield, Staffordshire. Other pallet operators are already based on the site including UK Pallets, Palletways
and PalletFORCE.
"This is a better location logistically and means we can serve the North and Scotland more easily," says Chamberlain. "We could probably open in around two weeks but we wanted to make sure that we've dotted all the Is and crossed all the Ts."
GPS has 61 members signed up so far with room for "another half-a-dozen depots", says Chamberlain.
