Palletways reorganises to reduce vehicle miles

13 February 2007

Palletways is reorganising its catchment areas in the West Midlands in a bid to cut the number of vehicle miles travelled and reduce the carbon footprint of its operations.

As part of the shake-up Premium Freight Services has taken over the Dudley postcode, which was previously serviced by Hickmans of Kidderminster. In addition, Berser International , based in Chesterton, will be taking on some parts of the Stoke-on-Trent postcodes from Palletways Birmingham, which in turn is adopting further Birmingham postcodes adjacent to its existing operations.

To help with the planned growth Premium Freight Services has taken on new staff, including two drivers, and will continue to recruit where necessary.

A spokeswoman for Palletways says the move "forms part of a planned restructure of the Palletways operations in the West Midlands region to make them more efficient and to bring about enhanced customer service".
