Kuehne + Nagel has won a contract to carry out the home delivery of furniture for House of Fraser.
The deal starts this month and means the logistics company will take on the warehousing responsibilities and 30,000 deliveries a year for the department store retailer. Kuehne + Nagel confirms that it was "competing against the incumbent supplier for this business", Ceva Logistics , formerly TNT logistics.
K+N says it will incorporate the new business into its dedicated furniture distribution network, which makes 175,000 deliveries a year with a dedicated 100-strong fleet. "In order to accommodate the additional business following this contract win, we expect to increase this furniture distribution fleet by around eight vehicles," says K+N.
