Lots of new vans at the CV Show

19 February 2007

There might have been a record number of van launches in 2006, but there's still going to be plenty for van buyers at this year's CV Show starting April 24.

As well as being the first UK show appearance for the Citroën Relay, Fiat Ducato and Peugeot Boxer, this will also be the UK debut for the Citroën Dispatch, Fiat Scudo and Peugeot Expert.

Citroën promises that its offering will have features to set it apart from its siblings,  while Peugeot has already announced full specification for the Expert - including prices (starting at £13,670). This will be Peugeot's first CV Show for four years, and will be the world preview for the 207 van.

Following the success of its first Hanover appearance, LDV will have a significant presence at the show. It will use the event to launch its new range of Maxus chassis cabs.

VW, which had its best-ever year in 2006, will be showing a full range of Crafter conversions, including an Ingimex dropside and tipper and a Boalloy-built Luton. It will also be launching the new Shiftmatic automated manual two-pedal transmission in the Crafter.

However, most people are likely to be looking at the Atacama concept vehicle - a four-wheel drive lifestyle version of the Crafter.

Vauxhall will be focusing on the Movano, which it says it plans to push in the coming months. Despite selling more vans than Renault in the UK, the Movano is consistently outsold by its  Renault Master sibling. It will be showing a double cab tipper and a removals van.

This will also be the UK show preview for the new Corsavan and show goers can expect to see a couple of Vauxhall concept vehicles too.

Both Nissan and Renault Trucks will be previewing the new Cabstar/Maxity, while Ford is promising to show a derivative of the Transit that has never been seen in the UK before.
