H&B logistics joins UPN

19 February 2007

United Pallet Network's XDA 'live signature-capture system' for pallets has already attracted a new member - Manchester-based H&B Logistics.

H&B will cover the Greater Manchester area including the M, SK, OL and BL postcodes. Director Alan Byrne says: "Our reasons for joining UPN were the XDA live signature-capture system giving real-time proof of delivery, the central billing system and traceability through the hub."

UPN national  sales director Simon Hazelgrove says: "As far as I'm aware, none of our competitors are providing a live system, which we believe to be a huge incentive for non-members to join."

H&B, which has a 1,400m² distribution centre in Denton, plans to increase sales by 25% this year while expanding its warehouse capacity and fleet.

  • UPN's latest financial results shows its short-term debts fell from £474,000 to £399,000 last year. A spokesman explains: "Overall 2006 was a record year for us and we've made heavy investments for 2007. We've invested in the hub, new technology and experienced directors. It should be another successful year."
