The driver shortage appears to have eased, says early findings from updated UK-wide research by Skills for Logistics.
But SfL warns that road transport employers need to be aware of a demographic time-bomb with an ageing driver workforce and a lack of new blood in the industry.
Initial indications reveal 36% of employers describe recruitment conditions as "easy" while two-thirds consider them either "easy" or "reasonable". Full results will be published by early May.
