Deutsche Post World Net, parent company of DHL, has revealed strong results on its 2006 trading.
Turnover rose 36% to €60bn (£40.8bn) and operating profit was up by around 3% to €3.9bn (£2.65bn). The company says the integration of UK logistics firm Exel has proceeded well with the logistics division as a whole boosting turnover to €22.74bn (£15.5bn).
Group chairman and CEO Klaus Zumwinkel says the firm has performed strongly over the past year, adding: "What we have achieved with Exel represents the largest integration in our industry and the largest in our corporate history.
"This was all managed most successfully - a fact clearly reflected by the numbers."
However he warns that in 2007 the logistics business will only see single-digit turnover growth, although he predicts a rise in operating profit of around 15%.
