Denby Transport is requesting that Volvo fits on-board diagnostics (OBD) and NOx sensor to as many of the Euro 5 trucks it has ordered as possible. The system, which reduces the engine torque if it detects that the truck is running without AdBlue, is a requirement in order to qualify for the £500 VED rebate.
The Lincoln-based haulier, which carries out over 95% of its work on the Continent, has ordered 14 Euro 5 FH 480 Globetrotter-cabbed 6x2 tractors. They will be delivered throughout 2007 and MD Peter Denby is hopeful that roughly half with be fitted with OBD.
