Northern Ireland trailer manufacturer SDC has set up a company in India to investigate a joint venture to make trailers for the Indian market.
The company, to be based at Chennai (formerly Madras), will also represent other UK companies in India and will source components for UK-based firms.
However, it will not sell SDC's UK manufactured trailers in India as it is not considered viable to export them to the subcontinent.
