Taygroup goes from three to one brand

12 April 2007

Taygroup is changing its business structure because not enough people in the industry know its name. From this month Taylored Lines and Bee Line Transport, of which Taygroup is the holding company, will be merged into Taygroup. Nigel Greenslade, sales and marketing manager, says: "Bee Line especially is a well known brand but the industry does not pick up on the Taygroup name."

He adds: "The structure was confusing for clients but now the Bee Line and Taylored Lines names will disappear.  It is a straightforward name change with no job losses. The move to a single logistics group will clarify the service to our customers." The company's fleet of 200 vehicles and 350 trailers will have new colours and a new livery. Greenslade tells Motor Transport this will happen "over a period of time".

Taygroup has made the change as part of a general restructuring which will enable them to "push for growth". The company opened a new 140,000sq ft shared user warehouse and headquarters in Biggleswade in May last year, at a cost of £10m, and merged its northern operations in Manchester and Skelmersdale into a two-and-a-half acre distribution depot in Wigan.

W Jordan Cereals is the core contract at the Biggleswade warehouse and they will be joined by a new client from the pharmaceutical sector later this month.
