Argos workers pick up 5.1%

13 April 2007

More than 1,600 workers at five Argos sites have received a 5.1% pay rise in the second year of a two-year pay deal.

The increase, effective from April 1, is calculated by the formula of February RPI inflation plus 0.5%. The retailer says the deal affects warehouse operatives at five Argos-operated regional distribution centres in Bridgwater, Basildon, Castleford, Heywood and Magna Park. Drivers at Castleford and Magna Park also receive the pay rise, but drivers based at the other three  sites are employed by Wincanton.
