A 44-tonne articulated truck ended up in the Manchester Ship Canal last week after it rolled off the edge of Trafford Tankwash truckpark. The vehicle, understood to be operated by De Rijke, started to move as the driver was attaching the trailer to the cab. The driver, who was standing on the platform, jumped off as his artic plunged into nine metres of water. The front of the truck was left sticking out of the water.
