Renault’s partnership with Nissan continues to bear fruit as the French launch their new Maxity at the NEC. On the stand are Maxitys in several guises but centre stage is the Nissan-built 2.5-litre DXi 110.35 Euro-4 exhaust gas recirculation version with factory-built dropside body and a three-seater day cab.
It means the French are able to offer both EGR and SCR vehicles at the bottom end of its weight categories along with Master van and Mascott chassis-cab. Renault, through Nissan, also offers the 3.0-litre DXi as an alternative driveline, and overall there are three power ratings; 110, 130 and 150hp. It has two transmissions, and it comes with a three-year warranty, with a maximum 60,000 miles over 36 months.
While things look a little crowded for Renault in the 3.5-tonne market the cab-over design means they can offer better payload potential, 1,820kg, for operators keen on a chassis-cab option.
