French tanker builder's new assault on UK market

26 April 2007

French tanker manufacturer Maisonneuve is launching a renewed sales push in the UK following a tie up with Worcester-based DAF dealer Watts Truck Centre.

Brieuc Maisonneuve, chairman and managing director of the Cérences-based company, says that he wants the UK to become a more important market for it. He adds: “The UK market currently represents 10% of our turnover, but we want to increase that and we are working very hard at it.

“We already have a strong presence in the milk tanker market where we have a lot of customers but for a couple of years we have had a reduced presence in the UK, but we want to come back and grow it, that’s why we have set up this partnership with Watts.”

Maisonneuve says the company has been working hard to shed weight across its product range and it claims to have achieved savings of 400kg on average – 70kg was cut from modified insulation materials alone.

The company sells tankers for a number of applications including milk collection, chemical transport and bitumen.
