Kuehne + Nagel increases first quarter turnover

02 May 2007

Kuehne & Nagel increased turnover by 13.5% during the first quarter of the year and says its European hub system, launched last month, contributed to an increase in volumes.

Group turnover was 4.9bn CHF (£2bn) for the period, compared with 4.3bn CHF (£1.8bn) for the same period in 2006. Its European overland operations made good progress, with turnover increasing by more than 21%. The group says it will continue investing in its IT systems and strengthening the pan-European network so as  to offer customers "single-source services from the first to the last mile."

It says its contract logistics activities are becoming a growth driver for the group after turnover increased in this division by almost 20%.
