Bridgestone has launched its new M749 drive-axle tyre, completing its range of new generation highway tyres.
It follows the launch of the R249 steer-axle and the R168 trailer-axle tyres, and, says Bridgestone's Roger Moulding, it offers better braking and wet cornering characteristics than the closest competitor.
He explains that this has been achieved as a result of the tyre's unique tread design, which "encompasses five circumferential grooves and straight and s-shaped sipes".
The past 12 months have seen Bridgestone win contracts with a number of new customers, including Collease Vehicle Rentals, Dawson Rentals and Tuffnells Trailer Fleet. "It has been a tremendous year," says Moulding, "we now have a 26.4% share of the truck tyre market, meaning we are close to being market leader."
