Alliance Freight Network teams up with ANC

23 May 2007

Alliance Freight Network has announced the first of its "working alliances" ahead of its launch - a partnership with ANC Express to carry parcels put through the network to their final delivery point. The newest of the pallet networks says partnerships are in place for the other services to be offered after the launch, including European groupage and sea freight consolidation. And it "provisionally" already has full coverage, managing director Peter Shortt tells Motor Transport.

The first  of Alliance's site visits to potential member depots took place last Friday, with up to nine scheduled this week. There are provisionally 38 members on board so far, Shortt says. He says Alliance "has always seen ANC as an ideal fit because of geographical coverage". Alliance's partnership with ANC, which is now owned by US parcels giant FedEx, will operate shortly after the launch of the network, which Alliance says is "very close".
