MAN has appointed Bernhard Kerscher as head of its newly restructured Region North sales and support area - which encompasses the UK, Ireland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Iceland. Kerscher, who was previously MD of MAN's Swiss operation, moved to Swindon two months ago. Reporting directly to him is MAN ERF chief executive Des Evans, who adds to his role overall responsibility for sales development across the region.
Meanwhile sales and marketing director Dave Cussans takes on the new central
role of director of operations. One of his new responsibilities is to oversee the creation of MAN regional sales and support centres in Glasgow, Manchester and Swindon. There are plans to open similar centres across Region North. MAN has a 10.7% market share of the Region North countries, and has aspirations to increase this to 15% by 2010. This expected growth will include increasing its share of the Swedish market from 2.5% in 2006 to 8% in 2010.
