APN to set the standards for pallet networks

Wednesday 30 May 2007 12:00

Paul Sanders, chairman of the Association of Pallet Networks (APN), says the new trade body aims to benchmark the pallet network sector and raise its profile among customers.

Sanders says the APN, which will meet quarterly, has started a study using online benchmarking to monitor "the efficiency of the sectore_SDRq, collating such information as the number of pallets moved by the networks collectively. A health and safety forum group has also been established.

All the currently operating pallet networks are represented in the APN, except for Sanders' former company, UK Pallets, where he was previously MD. "There's always an invitation to UK Pallets," Sanders says.

"The key aim of the association is to promote safety and efficiency and to raise awareness of the sector to customers," he adds.
