Haulage boss given suspended sentence

A Suffolk haulage boss has been given a suspended jail sentence after being convicted of three offences of conspiring to make false records on tachograph charts.

Barry Whittle, of Colville Road , Oulton Broad, near Lowestoft, who runs Barry Whittle (Haulage), was given a nine-month jail sentence, suspended for two years. After a trial at Ipswich Crown Court he was fined £250 for each conviction, bringing the total fine to £750.
