LDV has taken a step closer to having a European-wide dealer network, with the appointment of a new commercial manager for Spain - a country which LDV believes will be a key growth market over the next 12 months. This is the third senior appointment for LDV's export team in as many months, including new export director Robert Drewery.
Roberto Salvador Lopez joins LDV from Honda Automoviles Espaoa,
where he was commercial manager. Prior to that, he was dealer development manager for Honda in Spain. Lopez will be responsible for setting up the LDV office in Spain, which initially involves setting-up a Spanish dealer network and recruiting a team to assist dealers in working directly with the factory on order scheduling and deliveries.
Meanwhile Russian-owned LDV is stepping-up UK production to ensure that customers receive vans within four weeks of placing an order. Sales and marketing director Tony Lewis describes the four-week delivery times for bespoke build as "market-leading", and states that it is available to all customers, no matter what the size of the order is.
He says: "Our latest customer research shows that one thing that annoys both retail customers and fleets
is the long wait for delivery once an order has been placed. "As a lean, customer-focused company, we're responding to this by promising to deliver Maxus within four weeks."
