Two new UK VW Van Centres opened

01 June 2007

VW's head of sales worldwide Hans-Heiner Tueting had a busy day last week, when he came to the UK to open two new Volkswagen Van Centres.

Gilder, one of VW's oldest retailers in the UK, has opened a 1.3-acre site in Sheffield, at the cost of £2.5m. It is the largest in the company's growing network of dedicated van centres, and encompasses a large workshop with eight service  bays fully-equipped with the latest diagnostic and servicing systems.

Other services available include a showroom, fleet sales, parts and accessories, class 4 and class 7 MOTs, van rental, specialist conversions and Assured Used vans.

The other new addition to the network is Hartshorne Van Services of Shrewsbury, which creates ten new jobs. "We now operate three dedicated Volkswagen Van Centres from sites in Birmingham, Bilston and Shrewsbury" says MD Brian Bachelor.

"Our success can be attributed to our total focus on providing, servicing and repairing Volkswagen vans - with the expertise and resource to meet the needs of the small independent purchaser right through to the large fleet buyers and everything in between."
