The biodiesel market is expected to grow sharply over the next six years, according to research group Frost & Sullivan. The European market currently consumes 3.89 million tonnes of biodiesel a year, generating €2.93bn (£1.98bn) of revenue. This is expected to grow to 9.75 million tonnes by 2013, creating revenues of E7.46bn (£5.04m).
