Broscombe commissions XF105 for events in tents

11 June 2007

Marquees for country shows and other events are bulky and heavy enough to require a substantial road transport capability - like the curtain-sided 44 tonne-plated Daf XF105 rig commissioned by long-established Huddersfield haulier SE Broscombe.

It is operated under contract to Honley, West Yorkshire based Northern Marquees. Broscombe's Adrian Brooke says the Daf was ordered in Euro 5 form to maximise its environmental credentials. An AdBlue dispenser has been installed at its home depot  to supply the 12.9 litre MX engine's SCR deNOx system.

Included in the new Daf's specification for Broscombe is the optional ZF AS-tronic automated mechanical transmission, complete with the hill-hold feature which wins praise from driver Dave Price. Meanwhile the Daf's appearance is made more imposing by prominent air-horns and a battery of auxiliary driving lamps at grille and roof level.
