Seafield triples profit

12 June 2007

Seafield Logistics has tripled its pre-tax profit to £31,422 for the year to June 30, 2006 from £10,188 in 2005. But both operating profit - down to £43,115 from £201,945 - and turnover - down to £21.5m, from £22.4m - were affected by the company’s temporary closure of two warehouses at Aylesham and Claylands for redevelopment.

MD Mark Strong says the figures were “in line with expectations”. The warehouse  at Aylesham will re-open in July but Claylands will be closed “for the whole next financial year. Turnover will therefore remain static”. Strong maintains that the Worksop-based company is still on course to meet its stated target of £100m turnover within the next five years.
