VW keeps advertising plain and simple

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is launching an advertising campaign designed to convince buyers of the business case for buying their vehicles rather than being witty. The poster, newspaper and web campaign uses the line "Let's Go to Work" as its cornerstone and focuses on straightforward financial and service benefits. The company has moved away from a more stylised approach since its last major van campaign, which used the slogan "Apparently Volkswagen also makes cars".

A spokeswoman  says: "The new campaign is designed to broaden the appeal to business consumers who are increasingly looking to justify their choice of van on purely rational business grounds, not just because the vehicle comes from a premier brand." The campaign has been developed by advertising agency RLA.
