The first national truck drivers' conference will take place on 4 April 2008 at the Embassy Conference Centre, Skegness, Lincs. Organised by the Truckersworld website, the event aims to highlight drivers' concerns in a professional forum and to change the public perception of the industry. The conference runs from 10am to 4pm and the organisers are hoping for input from the Department for Transport, Vosa, the Highways Agency, the Police, the Road Haulage Association and the Freight Transport Association.
The organisers need support from drivers by November to ensure that the event can go ahead.
