Price Express Transport nearly flooded out

27 June 2007

Operators across the country faced appalling conditions over the past week, with many roads closed thanks to severe flooding. Particularly hard hit was Sheffield where the River Don burst its banks on Monday 25 June, flooding the Attercliffe and Brightside areas of the city. Price Express Transport - based in Don Road in Attercliffe - narrowly avoided being flooded out. However, managing director David Price says that its operations were severely disrupted, with trucks prevented from returning  to its depot by the police. He adds: "We didn't move any freight for the first time in 30 years that night. When we left that evening water was literally lapping at the doors."
