Bulmers nets £10m funding for expansion

29 June 2007

Bulmers Logistics has received a £10m funding package to help with ambitious expansion plans. The Teesside-based firm says the funding boost negotiated through Yorkshire Bank will help it meet a 20% yearly growth target for the next five years. Bulmers plans to add 50 vehicles - a mix of Scanias and Dafs - to its fleet this year, as well as replace many of its older lorries.

In July the firm will open a new depot near Felixtowe, creating 60 jobs.  Financial director Nick Scott says: "The  £10m funding package is a complex one, and not for one particular area of the business, but will help us grow in a lot of ways. We are targeting organic growth but will not rule out acquisitions."
