Ged Ashes loses licence

29 June 2007

A Lancashire operator has had his O-licence revoked and is banned from using his depot following complaints from local residents. Ged Ashes had his licence revoked indefinitely at a hearing in Bury magistrates court. The court heard Ashes had used his Rossendale farm as a depot for his fleet. Formal complaints were received at the hearing that the trucks had caused excessive noise, visual intrusion, vibration and damage to private roads. A spokesman for Rossendale Council commented: "As a council  we have worked with residents and other agencies such as the Environment Agency, Lancashire County Council and the police to have this licence revoked."
