Laser Transport International says sustained growth in its core business helped return the firm to profit. But it adds that price undercutting from European competition "not burdened with the same operating costs as in the UK" could be a risk to its future profitability. The company's directors say: "In spite of the commercial uncertainties and the fact that our trading environment remains fiercely competitive in all markets, 2007 results to date are encouraging." Pre-tax profit for the year to December 2006 leapt to £465,762 from a pre-tax loss of £328,938 in 2005. Turnover for the Hythe, Kent-based firm rose to £15.3m from £14.8m.
